Is it Nice or Nice?

Mads, Alaiyah and I took a very early flight to Nice, France. My face was glued to the window the whole flight, looking down at the Alps. We arrived, checked into our airbnb (I felt like a queen after staying in hostels for the past four weeks), visited a cool antique market, and headed to the rocky Mediterranean coastline. After we tried Socca, which is basically a crepe made of chickpea flower. Because of the language barrier I accidentally ordered a GIANT beer, which I had no complaints about.

We had a really sweet, girly evening with a charcuterie board on the beach just in time for sunset. Afterwards, we hid our blanket and board in a bush to get later so we could go to the local English pub, which was recommended to us when we landed. I seem to find live music wherever I go, or maybe it finds me. We ended up front and center at a show in the pub. Next thing I knew the whole place was dancing on the tables. We knew every song and they even gave Alaiyah the mic at one point. We had a blast. I almost forgot we were in France!

The girls and I commenced our time together with a little sailing adventure. We booked a spot on a local's sailboat, where we sailed down the French Riviera. It was wonderful with perfect weather. We laughed because there were 4 other guests on the boat with us, all American ladies. Our poor helmsman. We drank wine, relaxed, and swam in the same bay that Pablo Picasso used to swim in!

Madison and Alaiyah left me for Minnesota, I gave them big hugs and told them to give everyone at home some love from me. My friends are simply the best. I stayed one extra day in Nice alone. I read on the beach all day and got a lot of much needed sleep. Switzerland is my next stop. I took a sunrise swim in the Mediterranean before my flight, feeling so grateful for all of this.

“Hannah was a fantastic travel coach!! Her excitement for me and my journey flowed through her dedication and ability to provide any help I needed. Hannah was always willing to go above and beyond to provide me with resources and connections as we sorted through my desire to travel. She researched budget friendly flights, looked up the best and cheapest methods of transportation, informed me of the safest towns in the area, researched the weather, discussed with me what a travel friendly budget looked like, had an essential packing list all ready to go, and was very easy to reach! Hannah was amazing and always met me where I was at. There was no rush to do anything, and I always felt heard, comforted, and respected when talking with her about my dreams. She provides a very safe, open, and reliable environment to discuss anything and everything you may need. I highly suggest working with an individual as inspiring, brave, kind, bold, and joy-filled as her!”
